Depression Treatment
Depression is a mental illness, which one should not confuse with the short-term emotional distress, anxiety attacks or feeling low, which also can be symptoms of a clinical depression. Anyone can feel low for a brief period of time, or have anxiety attacks once in a while, but that does not mean they are suffering from clinical depression. Depression is a persistent feeling of sadness, loneliness, grief, uselessness, emptiness and emotional pain. If left untreated, festering depression can lead to increasing despondency resulting in thoughts of suicide, self-harm, loss of work productivity, isolation from friends or family.
We approach clients with depression through various modalities to assist in recovering from their disruptive emotional state. Listening, understanding, and evaluating the symptoms helps determine and define a treatment path. Depression is treatable.
