Therapy for Children
The emotional development of children between 5 and 7 years old is that of learning to interact with other people and to control their emotional reactivity. This learning process of socialization and the control of impulses are skills that continue to develop into teenage and young adult years. Often times teachers and parents see patterns of the child having a lack of interest with other children, intense fear that prevents daily activities, difficulty separating from the care giver as well as the unwillingness to share and becoming agitated, demanding that routines stay the same. Many times these concerns have little substance however if the pattern of behaviors resists redirection over time possibly a discussion with a trusted medical professional may help to alleviate concerns.
